pb scott schliebe usfws Are White Polar Bears Going to Extinct? They’re adorable, cuddly as well as absolutely vulnerable. Polar bears capture the admiration as well as attention of people the world over for their fluffy white coats and huggable size. They amass honor from pet lovers for their hunting ability as well as survival strategies in one of the harshest environments on Planet. But despite their mind-boggling attraction these giants are in risk of being wiped off Planet entirely.

The Bear Essential
Polar bears are a big species that make their homes on the frozen Arctic marine. The bears will definitely spend the majority of their lives on the ice. Males can increase up to ten feet in span as well as weigh in at over 600 kg! The bears are carnivores, meaning they consist largely on a diet made up of the meat of additional Arctic pets. At present there are actually estimated to be merely 20 to 50 thousands polar bears left in the wild. They are actually on the Endangered Animal Listing.

Why They’re At Risk
The biggest hazard to the survival of the polar bear animals is the noted warming of the Arctic ocean which is actually leading to the melting of the ice these bears call residence. Although the bears use the ice for breeding as well as resting as well, it’s fundamental element is to supply a cover for the bears as they hunt seals. Without adequate ice, the bears can easily not expand a long way enough from land to hunt enough food to stay alive. The bears are turning into malnourished and lots of are perishing of malnourishment. This dynamic is effecting female bears by having cubs in a terrific quantity inducing reduced survival rates of the newer generations. Added dangers to polar bears provide escalated run ins by having individuals due to the forced time spent on land, and spills, improvement and freight operations relating to oil in the Arctic.

Who Is Helping, as well as Exactly how
Principal contributors to the match to save the Arctic Polar Bear consist of the Coca-Cola Provider and the Globe Wildlife Fund. Together these businesses are actually raising hard earned cash to research which is actually generating world-wide temperature change as well as functioning with governmental companies to oversee greenhouse gasoline emissions. More major ventures provide energies to prevent unfavorable mortal connections providing poaching as well as remarkable travel and leisure and safeguarding vital environment spaces such as birthing dens.

You can get involved in the quest to conserve the Arctic Polar Bears by functioning instantly by having the Globe Fauna Fund. Begin the rewarding quest today by visiting Polar Bears at World Wild Life.

how will global warming effect animals? what position will it place our polar bears and penguins in? extinction? will we lose antartica eventually? will we as humans get too hot?

Global warming is and will continue to have a devastating effect on all life. As a consequence of our burning fossil fuels, the world is now arming faster than any other time in millions of years. Animals and plants are unable to adapt to a rapidly changing environment and are thus dieing. Anyone who says otherwise is a fool in complete denial.

Polar Bears and Penguins may have to move to the new cold spot. Everyone calls this phenomena Global Warming but it is nothing more than a change in the magnetic field of the Earth. Science has already discovered that the magnetic poles have flipped during its long life time. Yes it is a problem that many animals will have to contend with. Let us hope that the climate changes will be slow enough for them to adapt. It has been proved that animals have been able to cope fairly well as per examples of World wide Zoo’s. The comfort range for humans is very large. We have survived in all climates since our brain mass is the main compensator.

How? Well they will do what everything on this planet has done over time, evolve or die, the same as us. We need to be smarter when it comes to pollutants. We can’t just stop, we aren’t a “smart enough” species yet, we are too worried about making money and having fun. Even the people that ride bicycles pollute, do you know what go into a tire, what comes out, do most people even recycle them, or the paint, the metal, it all takes something bad to make, unless you live in a tree and use rocks as utensils you are “destroying” the Earth. So you decided, everyone of you.

Makes no difference as the animals and man adapt or die.

No one knows and no one can even make a reasonable guess because we have no idea how warm it will get. If it gets warm enough, polar bears and penquins will have to adapt or become extinct. I would say the polar bears have a better chance of adapting to a significant change in temperatures because they are less specialized. On the other hand, there are also penquins that do not live in Antartica so once again, who knows. No we are not going to lose Antartica, it’s a continent and it’s not going to get hot enough to melt rock so it will still be there. There will probably be less ice, but then there are parts of Antartica that are not covered with ice even now. In general, life will adapt to what ever is thrown at it. It always has and it always will. Life goes on.

Bush allowing Oil Companies to Harm Polar Bears, instead of using American inginuity to go Green. WHY? I guess in a selfish world one does what they have to do, even if it means the potential extinction of another species. When the Oil runs out, and those species of life who may have been in the way of our greedy pursuits are gone, how proud will we be? Green ideas are just not good enough… well, one of these days when the Oil is gone, it’s going to HAVE TO BE GOOD ENOUGH. Your thoughts.

Because Bush has investments in oil and is smiling all the way to the bank. Way back in the sixties, GM, had a car that ran on solar power but the project never got started because of these oil magnates. We could have resolved this problem years ago, going green. I will be so glad to see Bush leave office for good. He is a good ole boy, Republican, and has done nothing for the people in the U.S. except get us in a huge deficit, spend 9 trillion on a war. I am so sick and tired of this good ole boy attitude in our country, it’s time for a change.

A survey of the animals’ numbers in Canada’s eastern Arctic has revealed that they are thriving, not declining, because of mankind’s interference in the environment. In the Davis Strait area, a 140,000-square kilometer region, the polar bear population has grown from 850 in the mid-1980s to 2,100 today. Please do your research before spouting such nonsense bush should be credited for increasing the population “There aren’t just a few more bears. There are a hell of a lot more bears,” said Mitch Taylor, a polar bear biologist who has spent 20 years studying the animals

You notice Dooks poltiical speach against Palin. That is all you get from most alarmists, left wing politics and non-science. Planet Earth had wonderful photography but it wasn’t a science lesson. Suggestions that Polar Bears are endangered is nonsense. They have been doing fine. Polar Bears as nearly every other animal struggles to survive and most don’t. Polar Bears are one of the only animals that may actually be harmed by a warmer climate. Nearly every other plant and animal would benefit from a shorter Arctic winter IMO.

stop burning coal, oil, and natural gas. that’s the only way. kind’a like weight. want to lose some? don’t eat as much. there’s nothing magic about it. Edit: There’s lots of other stuff, (drive a smaller car, or take the bus, take shorter showers (or none ewe) turn off lights when not needed, etc) that will help slow global warming down some. But to stop it, you have to stop putting CO2 into the atmosphere. Really.

I adore polar bears =) Please watch this and you’ll stop worrying about the polar bears – it states they’ve survived through a naturally much warmer climate than what we’ll have. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YaTJJCPYhlk

What Species of animal do you think will be the next to be extinct?Or close to extinction? I think the Polar bear will be the next due to Global warming and the Ice melting…
